Surgical Services

The Department of Hand Surgery performs approximately 1650 operations per year, made up of around 1200 emergency procedures and 450 elective procedures. 

If you attend a hand surgery clinic and are advised by the hand surgeon that surgery would be beneficial, you will be asked to complete a "Recommendation for Admission". The Admissions Department will then place you on the surgery waitlist. You will be contacted with a date for your surgery within an appropriate timeframe for your condition.

The Hand Surgery Department will then contact you the day prior to the surgery with instructions for fasting and information regarding your arrival time and your stay in hospital.
